About Parie Nikka Buffington
I am originally from Guyana and at present reside in Minnesota USA. I am currently a student at British Academy of Photography. There isn’t any incredible back story to my photography journey. It has been a gradual growth for me. An interest that began In the 1990’s during my high school years, when my Dad bought me my first camera, a Kodak compact film. This interest expanded into digital photography through my international travels. In 2019, I began to experiment with stock photography during which time I was residing in Suriname, South America. To this day I've had more than 350 downloads across all stock sites with a shy 200 photograph portfolio. This portfolio has been a learning curve towards building my editing skills.

Like many aspiring photographers it was a process of doubt and self-discovery but I continued on with the challenge. Currently, said challenge still exists as I have developed a creative yearning for film photography once more. This brings me to a different stage of my journey. Having acquired more than thirty five film cameras ranging from the Nikon F to Hasselblad 500c/m, I’ve found myself moving at a slower and more deliberate pace of experimentation. I’ve learned to embrace this slowness as an essential part of my creative process. The medium’s inherent limitations from loading film to waiting for development have encouraged greater intentionality, fostering a deeper connection between thought and image.
This website was not created to display utmost professional photography but is simply a space for me to share how I see the world through images that, in my view, whether they’re grainy, blurred, or imperfect in any other way, they are genuine expressions of my perspective.
With that said I present to you, my artistry and passion for landscape, architecture and nature photography.
